Second to last game of the event, Cannon and Hickory Grove hit the court to battle it out at the Phenom Holiday Classic. It started out as a low scoring affair between the two Charlotte programs, as neither team found a ton of success in scoring the ball in the first half, but both teams did a good job in limiting each other to just one shot on the floor. Hickory Grove was up a few but Jarvis Moss gave fans a nice one-handed slam to tie it up at 15 with three minutes to go before halftime. A late tip-in by Hickory Grove had them within one at half, 23-22. The third and fourth quarter were much like the first half; a back and forth, trading lead affair. Midway through the fourth quarter, Hickory Grove created a few turnovers and Chas Stinson stepped up to the challenge to give Hickory Grove a 51-44 lead. That lead was just enough, as they were able to knock down free throws late to hold on and eventually pick up the big 60-52 win vs. Cannon.

Standouts:
2021 Chas Stinson (Hickory Grove): Stinson had himself a day and just played in another gear. The bouncy, wing prospect played extremely active, got out in the passing lanes, finished in transition, attacked off the dribble, and rose up over defenders with good touch to finish baskets. The do-it-all type player played really well on the court.
2022 DJ Cuttino (Hickory Grove): Cuttino was the other counter-part for Hickory Grove. At 5’10, he plays strong with the ball in his hands, took care of the ball and played well against the pressure. He also did an excellent job in knocking down shots off the dribble, pulling up with his mid-range and from outside. After a struggling game the day before, Cuttino played very well in this one.
2021 Jarvis Moss (Cannon): Moss continues to be the go-to leader for this team and looks to just have a switch in his game, when he gets aggressive and attacks. He reads and sees the floor well, knowing where to get his to his spots and where to attack. Moss continues to show that he can operate on so many levels and is really assertive on the floor.
