The second game of the day was a battle between two North Carolina programs in Greensboro Day vs. Concord Academy.' Both teams coming off a close game the day before, it was going to be interesting to see who could step up once again today. GDS came out strong from behind the arc, led by Mike Zanoni and Tyler Lundblade, helping Greensboro Day secure an early lead and extend it to double-digits by halftime.' Logan Threatt for Concord was active, leading the offense but also the leading scoring threat early on with nine points but Concord Academy found themselves down 43-33 at the half.

Zanoni didn't slow down in the second half, continuing to knock down shots from the perimeter but the play of Threatt kept Concord Academy within striking distance in the third. It was a six-point game to start the fourth and Concord was able to cut it to one, where it stayed for several minutes.  In the final second, GDS gave Concord a small window, only down by two. That is when Trae Benham got to the wing and knocked down what was ultimately the game-winning three, giving Concord Academy a 61-60 victory.

Stats:
Concord:
Logan Threatt 23 points
Trae Benham 14 points
Tyler Fearne 9 points

GDS:
Mike Zanoni 22 points
Tyler Lundblade 11 points
Nik Graves 6 points

Standouts:

2022 Michael Zanoni (GDS): Zanoni continues to play excellent basketball.  He continues to be a player that squares up and knocks down shots from three and with his mid-range game, as he is looking to show why he may be the best shooter in his class in NC.

2022 Logan Threatt (Concord): Threatt simply made play after play in this one.' With his quick footwork and reaction, while also reading what the defense gives him, Threatt took advantage in knocking down shots from outside or attacking off the dribble.' He was a one-man wrecking crew that kept his team in the game. Very impressive performance for him today.

2021 Trae Benham (Concord): It wasn't the best offensive showing that we have seen from Benham but this young man is not afraid of the bright lights and taking the big shot.  When his team was down and they need a big shot, Benham stepped up with a dagger three for the win, showing that when it counts, he is there.
