Phenom Hoops Report will be previewing all 32 teams that will be part of the High School Jamboree, as we are excited to kick of the new year of high school basketball around North Carolina.
Take a look at each team below to get a better sense of who to watch and what to look for with each team.
Word of God
Last Year: 29-3 Overall
Coach: Brian Clifton
Players:
- Rawle Alkins: Senior 6’5 guard that holds offers from all around the country. A recent transfer to Word of God, Alkins provides instant star power to an already talented team. He certainly will bring his New York game down to North Carolina and with his frame, can really get what he wants at times with his body frame.
- Jaylen Fornes: A recent UNC-W commit, Fornes, who was plagued with injuries last season, really showed his talents over the summer AAU circuit. He is a knock down shooter that attacks the rim. Phenom Hoops has been high on this young man and we expect him to have big senior year.
- Jalen Harris: Harris brings the flash to an already star studded senior class at Word of God. Harris can simply light it up in several ways with the ball on his court. Furthermore, when his shot is on, he really can light it up in many ways.
- Brandon Huffman: A recent transfer, this is a 6’9 big man that will certainly provide an interior presence. He holds a few offers but with a solid junior year, his stock could rise tremendously.
- Other Players to Watch:
- Darius DK Simmons – 6’0 point guard
- Dequan Lockamy – 6’8 junior prospect, one of two big men for Word of God
- Aaron Simmons Jr – 6’4 junior guard
