Court 1 Standouts

Kamell Smith, 6'3 2021 W with Team Felton 15u – Athletic wing was best on the floor for his
team in the one we saw. Active kid, he was the only real consistent threat, going to work on
offense as well as on the glass. Motor ran hot and cold and production was hit and miss as a
result but showed enough to make us take notice when he was dialed in. Decision making,
motor, and defensive effort are going to have to come but there are raw materials here with
which to work with.

David Lynam, 6'3 2021 W with WCBA Blue 15u – Kid has the kind of game that grows on
you the more you see it. We were able to see him go 3 times this weekend and though the
numbers/game does not pop off the page at you what we do see is a trend of consistent
production. He has a solid glue guy type of game that works well with this system. He plays
within the offense, makes the plays he's supposed when he's supposed to, and plays hard. The
production follows as a result. 8-12 points, 5 rebounds, 2-3 assists each time we have seen him
go are numbers we will gladly take. Not sure where the ceiling is here but has the feel of a solid
floor guy that you can take and live with comfortably at this level.

Daquan Steward, 6'2 2020 F with NC Best 16u – Grinder with a big motor gets stuff done
through effort. Bit of a bull in a china shop type game but it works for him and his team. Really
like how he flies in for rebounds and attacks the glass. Needs to play more under control as he
will get a bit wild and pick up some fouls he might not should have but we'd rather have a player
we have to reign in then one we have to ramp up. No coach wants to have to beg for effort, that's
not an issue you will have here with Daquan.

Ikechi Ajukwa, 6'2 2020 F with Upward Stars 16u – We have seen a few undersized power
players show well in this event so far. Ikechi is one of them. He's got good size, moves well, and
is powerful in the paint on both ends of the floor. Moves better than you'd expect and plays with
a motor, a combination that shows up for him in the box score. You don't want him putting the
ball on the floor but if allowed to be a garbage man and do what he does best he proves to be
very effective.

Joshua Owens, 6'5 2020 F with NC Best 16u – Kid just looks like you want a ball player to
look like. Good size, frame, and strength all wrapped up with a healthy helping of athletic ability.
For all his ability though you can't help but expect more from him. He will have several
possessions where he looks like a dominate athletic player, then will go for long stretches where
you don't know he is on the floor. The physical gifts are here to be had but he has got to find a
way to tap into them on a more consistent basis going forward if he wants to realize is true
potential.
