MVP Game Performers Part 1

 

The 3rd Annual Grassroots TOC had 160 teams and a lot of MVP game performers that deserve special recognition. Today, we want to look into some players that were voted MVP of their particular game.

5’11 '19 Qualeem Poindexter (NC Gaters)

The freshman from Greensboro Page enjoyed a stellar tournament and averaged over 20 PPG for the event. In the 80-77 win over the CC Flight, Poindexter erupted for a game high 26 points including four 3-pointers earning him game MVP honors. The athletic shooting guard is definitely one to watch over the next three years.

6'4 '19 Marlow Gilmore Jr. (Columbia Hoyas)

The freshman from Hunter Kinard Tyler (SC) is definitely one to monitor. He has superb strength, length, and athleticism for a wing guard. He is relentless in attacking the rim. In the game against the NC Spartans, Gilmore had a game high 25 points including two 3-pointers. He is totally engaged on both ends of the court and could be an outstanding on ball defender. Watch for his stock to continue to climb.

6'1 '19 Avin Hawkins (Hampton Hoyas)

There's a lot to like in the scoring ability of Avin Hawkins. He can score from all levels on the court. He has excellent quickness and the ability to score off the bounce. In the Hoyas 63-49 win over WB Jaguars, Hawkins went off for a game high 26 points including three 3-pointers. Hampton HS has a good one for the next three years.

6'0 '19 Jackson Gammons (Team Felton)

Jackson is such a fundamentally sound player. He has a high IQ and simply knows how to play the game. He's definitely a stat stuffer and has a knack of making the winning plays. In the 62-61 win over Manzer Basketball Club, Gammons was terrific. He had a game high 26 points including three 3-pointers. In addition, he recorded nine rebounds and dished out three assists. Gammons also displayed excellent leadership on the court.
