There was no doubt about it, Grace Christian (Sanford) had proven to be one of the best teams not only in the state but should be put up there nationally as one of the best teams in the country. And they showed that over the weekend on their way to another state title.
Led by the No. 1 player in the country, 2024 Sarah Strong, Grace Christian was able to cruise to yet another title 82-33, their third in a row. And many already know they have done that in three different classifications, with this year coming in the 3A Division.
You can’t deny what this team, especially with Strong, has been able to accomplish over the years. They were able to rack up an undefeated season in impressive fashion and even though Strong led much of the way (scored 30 points in the title game), this was truly a team that had bought into the system and success, and they were able to back it up.
Players like Icyss Storm, Isa Roman, Toni Hughes, Halisi Whitley, and others made this team extremely dangerous all season long and they showed why this past weekend. Now, Grace Christian (Sanford) can claim as one of the best teams/dynasties here in North Carolina, hanging up their third-straight banner for a state title.
