We've seen a lot of players come through our doors over the years, varying in appearance, skill level, and everything in between. We decided to put forth a 'Getting to Know' series on some players who have attended events but still remain on the lesser-known side of things. Each of these prospects embody being a student-athlete and getting it done in the classroom as well as on the basketball court, and today's edition will take a closer look at Steven Lassiter of The Burlington School.

We've seen Lassiter various times over the years, previously stating, 'Although there were numerous worthy standouts for this Trinity Christian group, Lassiter continually stood out as their leader. His tough, unselfish, low-maintenance identity allows him to do the little things and capitalize as needed on both ends of the floor. Lassiter plays with a high motor, finishes well around the basket, and works hard to secure extra possessions. He's a quality screener, rebounder, and finisher.' Which was later followed by, 'In many ways, Lassiter is the main leader and overall tone-setter for this group. Not only does his unselfish, blue-collar mentality naturally stand out on both ends of the floor, but he possesses the necessary IQ and polish to carry his weight in terms of production. Lassiter plays with a high motor, which allows him to make a constant impact as a defender, rebounder, and hustle player. He also understands how to consistently apply offensive pressure as an inside-out forward, showing the ability to be equally reliable in both areas.'

Since then, Lassiter ultimately made the decision to transfer to The Burlington School'where he should be a major contributor during his upcoming senior season. He's a steady, reliable, fairly versatile forward/post prospect with the ability to toggle between the paint and perimeter at a useful rate. Lassiter passes, shoots, and handles the ball well for his size, but also has obvious value as an active defender and two-way rebounder. He's a naturally productive player who simply understands how to lead by example and produce within his role at all times. Lassiter does a little bit of everything, and is capable of expanding his production whenever necessary. Scholarship-level should expect him to have a strong upcoming season.
