We’ve seen a lot of players come through our doors over the years, varying in appearance, skill level, and everything in between. We decided to put forth a “Getting to Know” series on some players who have attended events but still remain on the lesser-known side of things. Each of these prospects embody being a student-athlete and getting it done in the classroom as well as on the basketball court, and today’s edition will take a closer look at Julius Reese of Greensboro Day School.
We’ve seen Reese throughout his journey, most recently stating, “While others might receive more attention, it’s easy to see the value Reese brings to the table for this Bengals squad. He’s a well-rounded wing prospect with IQ, unselfishness, and the necessary adaptability to alter his approach at any given moment. Reese naturally does a little bit of everything within the flow of the action, but can expand his production if needed. He can knock down jumpers, initiate the offense, and secure rebounds but genuinely just thrives through playing hard on both ends of the floor. Reese knows how to defend and consistently make hustle plays.” Which was soon followed by, “Meanwhile, Reese has always maintained his foundation as somewhat of a glue-guy. He naturally affects all facets of the game and makes plays whenever available. Reese is also a great hustle guy and overall teammate who fills in the gaps very well.”
Although the Bengals always have incredible balance, it’s guys like Reese that really help push things forward. His status as an unselfish, team-first piece who is willing to do anything or adapt to any necessary role. Reese is strong, mobile, and displays the understanding of how to naturally affect the action as a glue-guy on a nightly basis. Though he can expand his production as needed, Reese is great at filling in the gaps, making hustle plays, and scoring within the flow of the team structure. He can handle the ball, defend his position, and make an impact as a rebounder. Folks should expect Greensboro Day to continue rolling, and Reese should certainly be a big part of their overall success.
