We've seen a lot of players come through our doors over the years, varying in appearance, skill level, and everything in between. We decided to put forth a 'Getting to Know' series on some players who have attended events but still remain on the lesser-known side of things. Each of these prospects embody being a student-athlete and getting it done in the classroom as well as on the basketball court, and today's edition will take a closer look at Kobe Parker of Ragsdale.

We've seen Parker steadily progress over the years, previously stating, 'Although both guys are probably better when operating in an off-ball role, they should be more than capable of assuming more ball-handling duties by next season. Both players are noted for their deft shooting abilities. Parker possesses deep range and can knock down simple or highly difficult looks at a reliable clip.' Which was recently followed by, 'Although they lost multiple key pieces, Ragsdale should still be one of the more competitive programs in Greensboro behind the leadership of Parker. He's clearly the focal point of this group, but understands how to dictate the action in a poised, unselfish, methodical manner. Parker has maintained his status as a lethal perimeter shooter, especially from beyond the arc, but is also highlighting noticeable improvement as a passer, defender, and penetrating threat. Expect him to have a very productive season.'

Last season, Parker posted nightly averages of 13.3 PPG, 3.6 RPG, and 1.9 SPG while leading the team in scoring. Though impressive, his scoring efficiency and overall on-court identity seem to have taken another step forward. Parker is now able to mix it up from all levels and conduct himself as a balanced leader on both ends of the floor. He's able to assume ball-handling duties, create for himself or others, and make intelligent decisions with the ball in his hands. Parker still maintains his deep range and quality mechanics as a three-point shooter, but is hitting shots with even more accuracy than before. He's also an engaged defender and willing rebounder who simply knows how to compete on both ends of the floor. Parker should have a breakout season for the Tigers.
