Getting to Know: 6'2 2021 Pharaoh Lassiter (Bethel HS, VA)

Back in 2018, Phenom's Frank Bennett wrote the following. 'Lassiter has impressive scoring instincts, one of the 757's best scorers! He is a shot maker who can get hot and hit a barrage of three pointers both spotting up and off the dribble from well beyond the arc, his range is incredible and he shoots the ball with seemingly little effort from that deep! His stroke is sound and consistent from all levels and his discipline as a shooter is impressive. Most of Pharaoh's offense revolves around his jump shot as he is very good as a spot up shooter or coming off screens.'

Fast forward to today and Lassiter is living up to all the accolades given by Frank Bennett. This season, he averaged 16 PPG, 4 APG, 2 RPG and also maintained an even more impressive 3.5 GPA in the classroom. Lassiter went on to make All Conference and Second Team All Peninsula District. In speaking with Bethel's head coach Craig Brehon, he stated the following, 'Lassiter can really shoot it with accuracy and range. He has a tremendous work ethic and will go down as one of the best pure shooters I've had at Bethel in the past 26 years. He's a very coachable athlete with a tremendous skill set.'

Lassiter is currently receiving interest from Hampton-Sydney and Old Dominion and unfortunately the COVID-19 pandemic prevented more schools to take notice. That being said, Lassiter is definitely a prospect for D1 and D2 schools to put on their watch list. He has proven success and his ability to score translate at the collegiate level. Coach Frank stated it best, 'When he's locked in, it doesn't matter if you're in his face or if you bump him, he can knock down the shot! There is always a place for someone with Pharaoh's shot making skills at all levels and he is an exciting prospect college coaches should keep an eye on!'
