We've seen a lot of players come through our doors over the years, varying in appearance, skill level, and everything in between. We decided to put forth a 'Getting to Know' series on some players who have attended events but still remain on the lesser-known side of things. Each of these prospects embody being a student-athlete and getting it done in the classroom as well as on the basketball court, and today's edition will take a closer look at Antoine Jones of Atkins.

We've seen Jones excel in every possible setting, previously stating, 'Starting things off, we look at a player that consistently stood out through his ability to carry the offense, Antoine Jones Jr. He's a quick, crafty, extremely confident guard prospect with the necessary skill and instincts to reliably generate (and convert) from all over the floor. Jones has no issue creating clean looks for himself off the bounce and possesses the capability of heating up or taking over completely. He plays bigger than his size and displayed an understanding of how to make an impact defensively. Next in his development process is working on his overall shot selection, as his ability to regularly hit incredible jumpers can sometimes lead to bad shots early in the offense. Coach Bendel on Jones: 'Antoine is instant offense. He generates shots with relative ease through a combination of quickness and craftiness. He truly carried the offense throughout the day for one of my lineups. He can get hot in a hurry and is capable of disregarding defensive pressure on difficult perimeter jumpers. Antoine is also a solid finisher and passer. He stepped up defensively when we needed him.' Jones found numerous ways to shine during camp and should emerge as a useful varsity contributor for Atkins sooner than later.'

Since then, Jones has only continued to showcase his microwave-level scoring ability for Atkins and during the travel ball season for the Winston-Salem Hustlers. He's done an excellent job of maintaining his identity as a quick, crafty guard. Jones is a useful initiator and capable playmaker, but typically makes the strongest impact when looking to apply scoring pressure. He's able to mix it up and apply pressure from all three levels quite regularly. Jones is a streaky shooter who will attack closeouts and finish around the basket. He's also a scrappy defender with the ability to force turnovers at the point of attack. Given the Camel's structure, it'll be interesting to see his continued development.
