We've seen a lot of players come through our doors over the years, varying in appearance, skill level, and everything in between. We decided to put forth a 'Getting to Know' series on some players who have attended events but still remain on the lesser-known side of things. Each of these prospects embody being a student-athlete and getting it done in the classroom as well as on the basketball court, and today's edition will take a closer look at Jonah Drye of Concord Academy.

We've seen Drye a considerable number of times over the last few years, previously stating, 'Continuing onto a player who arguably stood out as the best shooting threat on this team, Jonah Drye. He's a young, wiry, skilled guard prospect with nice vision and the ability to torch opposing teams from beyond the arc. Drye is great off the catch or dribble, and has the necessary change-of-pace to make plays off the bounce. Next in his development process is working to get quicker, as it would make him a better defender at the point of attack. Coach Lewis on Drye: 'Jonah is a really good shooter from the perimeter. Has the ability to make shots off the catch or dribble. Deep range on his shot. Good basketball IQ and court vision. Makes a lot of nice passes. Has the ability to hit the homerun play but that can get him in trouble at times. Crafty player who is able to score the ball in a variety of ways. Will need to improve his athleticism/first step to create space against bigger/stronger opponents.' Drye proved to be an asset at camp, and should be able to become a useful contributor sooner than later for Concord Academy.'

Given his age, feel, passing ability, and perimeter shooting, Drye has a variety of useful traits. He possesses a sturdy frame and utilizes it well to absorb contact and bounce off opponents when attacking the basket. Drye can capably run a team and dictate the action as a point guard, but can also find consistent success when operating without the ball in his hands. He's a willing passer and quality scorer who makes nice decisions when balancing the two. Drye provides great effort defensively and knows how to properly position himself for success. He has the tools to develop into a productive piece, so it'll be exciting to monitor his continued progression going forward.
