Player: Tae’Jon Myers
Height: 6’2
Class: 2022
School: River Bluff HS

Myers is a 6’2 combo guard that was a varsity letter player in 2019-2020 and finished the season averaging 6 points and 2.3 rebounds per game for River Bluff.  When you ask about his game, Myers shows a strong pull-up game but also one that can get the ball to the paint, finishing strong around the rim.  He also is a good on-ball defender as well, showing that he can make an impact on both ends of the court.

SC Phenom 150 Evaluation:

Moving onto a player that has a strong skillset but also showed a willingness to do whatever possible to help the team, Tae’Jon Myers. He’s a long, wiry, athletic wing prospect with a great two-way feel for the game and the ability to set the tone on either end of the floor. Myers was arguably the most reliable and versatile defensive player on this team, but also stood out as a scorer and rebounder throughout the day. Coach Dre on Myers: “Tae’Jon got hops! He goes and gets it on every play. He’s not going to be stopped when going downhill. He has a nice handle for a lengthy guard and can finish with either hand. He also has decent range on his shot and is a two-way player. The scary part is that I don’t think Tae’Jon knows how good he really is. I believe this young man is headed in the right direction.” Myers was able to consistently step up whenever his coach needed, which already makes him a valuable asset in high school basketball, so it’ll be exciting to monitor his progression going forward.

What the player said:

“I would say I’m a two-way player.  A player who can lock the other team’s best player up and get a bucket or make a play on the other end as well.  One of my strong suits I would say on the offensive end is my mid-range.  I think I have a fairly quick stop and pop pull-up but also, I get to use my length and leaping ability a lot to get to the basket. “

“I’m looking to improve on being consistent from behind the arc, setting up my teammates, and being a better off-ball defender.  Next season at River Bluff, I’m going to show that I’m at least a Top-30 player in my class in the state of South Carolina.”
