Jamie “JD” Gibbs class of 2022 is a multi-dimensional player who as a sophomore drew Pamlico’s toughest defensive assignments from opposing point guards to 6-6 post players. His combination of physical strength and quickness allowed him to become one of the elite defenders in the Coastal Plains Conference. JD is a potent offensive threat for the Hurricanes. His ability to finish in the paint over larger defenders coupled with his 3-point shot made him a difficult defensive assignment for opposing players. JD was clutch in big moments this year. Always on the floor during crunch time JD’s decision making and ability to hit pressure free throws and shots helped Pamlico win the conference and conference tournament. JD was on the Coastal Plains All-Conference team as a sophomore and looks to have two strong years of development ahead of him. JD is a high character and a strong academic student. – Coach Earl Sadler
