Get to Know Gibbs:

Only a sophomore last season for the Hurricanes, Gibbs really made himself known on the court.  He averaged 9.4 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 2.3 steals per game.  He shot 59 percent from inside the arc and 70 percent from the free throw line, starting every game as just a sophomore.  He was one of the best defensive players on the team, showing that he has a tenacious will to pick up anywhere on the court. 

He also is an incredibly smart young man in the classroom, having a 3.5 GPA.

Jamie “JD” Gibbs class of 2022 is a multi-dimensional player who as a sophomore drew Pamlico’s toughest defensive assignments from opposing point guards to 6-6 post players.' His combination of physical strength and quickness allowed him to become one of the elite defenders in the Coastal Plains Conference.' JD is a potent offensive threat for the Hurricanes.' His ability to finish in the paint over larger defenders coupled with his 3-point shot made him a difficult defensive assignment for opposing players.' JD was clutch in big moments this year.' Always on the floor during crunch time JD’s decision making and ability to hit pressure free throws and shots helped Pamlico win the conference and conference tournament.' JD was on the Coastal Plains All-Conference team as a sophomore and looks to have two strong years of development ahead of him.' JD is a high character and a strong academic student.
