Playing for one of the top teams this past season, you always need those players that understand their role and put in the extra work both on and off the court.  That is exactly what one can say for 2022 5'11 Cam Oates at Trinity Christian.

A program with talent all around the court, Oates embraced his talent and showed that not only can he be productive but also be a defining player that helps wins games.

This past season, he averaged 10 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 4 assists, showing that he has the talent to play at the next level.  When Phenom Hoops was able to watch him, Oates showed that he can step up and be a scorer but also play that 'underdog role' for a team, giving up his body to make plays and priding himself on both ends.

We wrote about Oates not along ago that can explain it a little more: https://phenomhoopreport.com/playing-the-underdog-role-2022-510-cam-oates-trinity-christian/

With key guys though graduating for Trinity Christian, Oates' role will only continue and he will have his change to show that once we get back on the court this summer, playing for Team Loaded NC.

Check out what we had to say when he competed in the NC Top 80 back in 2019:

'He's a very quick point guard prospect with quality instincts and the ability to effortlessly set up his teammates. Oates scores the ball pretty well from all levels but typically looks to get in the paint and make the smartest possible play. He sees the floor well, especially in transition, and is capable of making passes that other guards simply cannot. Oates is fairly crafty, but doesn't force the action and knows how to keep the ball moving. He proved to be an excellent defender throughout the day and forced numerous steals with his quick hands.'

Right now, Oates is receiving interest from Western Carolina and East Carolina right now and with a big summer and upcoming season, those interests could quickly become offers.
