Phenom Hoops introduced you to one player to watch at Jamestown high school in Virginia, but certainly don’t forget about the big man down low. 2022 6’8 Judah Egbo brings a unique feel to the floor and could just be starting his big journey in making a name for himself.
Phenom Hoops first wrote about Egbo back in August of 2019, which one can find here: https://www.phenomhoopreport.com/phenom-hoop-report-judah-egbo/
In speaking with Jamestown head coach Chris Brown more about him, he had a lot of great things to say about young forward.
“Judah, in his first full season as a varsity player, quickly become recognized as our rim protector and our go-to inside post presence. He averaged 12 points, 10.7 rebounds, and four blocks this season, as he was efficient in the post, shooting 48 percent from the floor.”
“He really progressed in his overall game, getting stronger physically this past offseason and developing post moves over both shoulders, as well as facing the basket. He is a heck of a shot blocker that really alters everything that comes through the paint.”
This offseason though, Egbo has and will be focusing on getting stronger and being able to expand his offensive game with the mid-range shot. It should help his game tremendously and become an even bigger threat on both ends of the court. He will be a target to watch this summer once we get back on the court for Team Loaded VA 16u.
Once he showcases his talent on the court on the big stage, Egbo could continue to gain interest from programs, more than he already has. Right now though, he has some interest from a few mid-major schools.
