We've seen a lot of players come through our doors over the years, varying in appearance, skill level, and everything in between. We decided to put forth a 'Getting to Know' series on some players who have attended events over the past few years but still remain on the lesser-known side of things. Each of these prospects embody being a student-athlete and getting it done in the classroom as well as on the basketball court, and today's edition will take a closer look at Jaden Ellis of Page High School.'

We've seen Ellis numerous times over the last few years, including at our most recent NC Top 80 Camp, where we stated, 'Next, we look at a player that knows how to run a team and showcase his skillset within the team concept, Jaden Ellis. He's a smart, well-rounded point guard prospect that offers a great balance between scoring and playmaking. Ellis showed the ability to attack the rim and finish with craftiness around the basket. He made quality decisions with the ball in his hands and displayed excellent quickness, especially when getting downhill and looking to make a decisive play. Ellis shot the ball well from the perimeter and was able to score on all three levels during camp, while getting his teammates involved at a terrific rate. Next in his development process is working on the use of his off-hand, as it'll make him a more complete offensive threat. Coach Bernardi on Ellis: 'Jaden is a great floor general. He shot it well from distance today and showcases great leadership qualities. I was impressed with how he finished at the rim and made the right decision when driving the ball.' Ellis is going to be a player to watch throughout this upcoming summer, especially if he continues to perform like he displayed at camp.'

Over the years, Ellis has proven himself as a determined leader with a nice balance between scoring and playmaking. He's an unselfish, team-first floor general that looks to get downhill and make plays. Ellis handles and passes the ball well, and possesses the necessary craftiness to breakdown opposing point guards. Last season, he averaged 15.6 PPG, 3.4 RPG, 3.4 APG, and 1.2 SPG while leading the team in three major statistical categories. Ellis is a useful defender, rebounder, and smart decision-maker in transition. He's already started gaining attention from college coaches, and should start collecting offers sooner than later.
