Game Breakdown:

Burnett is an intriguing prospect and one to start keeping tabs on in the state of North Carolina in the class of 2023.  Burnett has already earned a ton of experience playing last year and could be in for a breakout type season very soon.  The rising sophomore has had a solid summer as well, showcasing that he can impact the game in so many ways on both sides of the floor.  He sports a good 6'0 frame and showcases the ability to score on multiple levels, using his size and staying aggressive but also being able to make and create for others.  For a guard though, he does an excellent job on the boards, showcasing his motor and desire to battle.

When watching him recently at the Phenom Open Run, he was able to give us another glimpse of his game.  His natural ability and understanding of leading the offense, pushing the ball up the court, and using his size to his advantage to score.  But he also was able to create for others off the dribble, finding his teammates in the open court for easy buckets.  Add on top of him battling on the boards and being a nice piece on the defensive side, Burnett has a chance to really make a name for himself quickly.

What Has Been Said by Phenom Hoops:

'Elijah uses crafty ballhandling and change of speeds very effectively to hunt the lane and set up other players and get to the basket. He has good vision and can step out and shoot the three. A very good defender.'

'He's a long guard prospect with a solid feel and an impressive two-way motor. Burnett is a capable three-level scorer on offense; he mixes it up pretty regularly but certainly likes to attack the basket. Burnett defended with purpose at all times and was able to force plenty of turnovers throughout the day' Coach Simmons on Burnett: 'Elijah is very good at attacking the basket. He's a nice ball-handler with an impressive motor. He possesses deceptive quickness and a nice-looking stroke that ranges out to the three-point line. Elijah is a lefty that can get by his assignment and to the rack with ease. He has tremendous upside.' ' Jr Phenom Evaluation
