Liberty Heights certainly looks to be a program that fans will want to watch. Loaded with talent at multiple positions, one may have missed that they did add 2021 6'5 PJ Edwards, as he announced that he would be coming to North Carolina.

Getting a chance to watch him this summer with Team Curry, Edwards brings good size and a reliable shooter from the perimeter, with many labeling him as a 3 & D type prospect.  We wanted to get in touch with Edwards more to learn more about his game and recruitment, along with his excitement in playing in North Carolina.

Let's get to know Edwards a little more in our 1-on-1 interview.

PHR: First off, how did this summer go for you in all'

Edwards: I think this summer was great for me with getting my name out there and developing my game.

PHR: What was it like for you to join up with Team Curry and give NC fans a little taste of what you are hoping to bring at Liberty Heights this season'

Edwards: It was great. I was fortunate enough to come into a situation like that and really make an impact, so it was cool seeing people take notice.

PHR: What were you hoping to show that you can provide on the court'

Edwards: Really, just my whole game. I just wanted to show that I'm a versatile guard that plays the right way and knows how to win and find a way to impact any game.

PHR: What do you like to provide for a team on the court' What is your game like'

Edwards: Energy and a positive leader. I play at a controlled pace. I have a high IQ, so I try to make pays and lockdown on defense. I can score, I can finish, I can get downhill, and I can shoot the three. I can make the right play, make the extra pass… whatever the right play is.

PHR: What is your excitement around Liberty Heights this upcoming season'

Edwards: Super excited to play.  I think we got a good group of guys that can buy in to coaching and compete with.

PHR: As far as your recruitment, you hold a few offers already. What schools have offered and what have they been saying your way'

Edwards: Charleston Southern and ETSU.  They love my game and toughness and my IQ and believe I can compete at a high level.

PHR: What schools have been expressing interest your way but have yet to offer'

Edwards: Appalachian State, Charlotte, UNC-Asheville, UNCG, South Dakota State, James Madison, VCU, Virginia Tech, DePaul, and Georgia.

PHR: What have you been hearing from those schools overall'

Edwards: A lot of them are new, so maybe just developing relationship and getting to know me more.
