Back down in Texas, you may want to start getting yourself familiar with the talent of 2025 6’9 Parker Jefferson at Waxahachie high school, as he is quickly making a name for himself. A very skilled forward that is making his mark early in high school, Jefferson is quickly making his presence felt with his game, his continued progression, and with his recruitment. We spoke to him to learn more about his game and his recruitment early on.
Game Breakdown:
Best Describe his game: “I would say I’m very versatile and can do a variety of things and on defense, I’d say I’m a good rim-protector and can make good reads.”
How he likes to operate and areas of improvement: “I’d say I excel from about 15 feet in, generally. I can step out here and there and knock down shots. I’d like to work on being able to handle the ball full court and being able to hit my shots more consistently.”
Gaining valuable experience early on at Waxahachie: “I’d say getting to start and having to perform at such an early time has made me more mature and has made me a better leader as well as a teammate. It has prepared me for when times won’t be easy and I’ll know how to deal with them and survive the hard times.
Recruitment:
As far as it goes for his recruitment for the freshman, one couldn’t ask for a better start as he earned his first offer back in August, and in the last month or so, he has attracted the eyes of several high major programs like Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, and TCU have all offered as of late. We spoke to him about the latest and what other schools have been coming his way.
What it has been like receiving early attention his way: “It lets me know that my work is paying off but also I know those offers are based on my potential and some willing to get to where these schools see me to be. So, it lets me know I have so much further to go.”
What was the moment like receiving that first offer from Alabama St (August 2021): “Well, it was great to have my first offer but also Coach Mo Williams was my old coach back in fourth and fifth grade. So knowing that I made him proud and that he trusted me to keep working made it all much more memorable.”
Earning multiple high major offers, several of which close to him in or around Texas: “It has been really awesome. Once I got Texas A&M, I was just star-struck because of how much of a high-level program it is. Right now, I can’t say any stand out because I haven’t got a chance to know their style of play, coaching staff, etc… but I do like the schools and how they carry their programs.”
Other schools showing interest: “Kansas has shown interest. I don’t know of any other schools but I do have coaches from other schools following me. Also, Texas is showing interest in me as well.”
