The Spartans of Gaston Day certainly has made plenty of noise this season, off to a great start and really looking like a team that can make even more noise in the future in North Carolina.  Phenom Hoops has been able to view the Spartans a few times this year, with the most recent coming at the Phenom Holiday Classic and we can say it now, college coaches need to put this team on their radar to check out.

When you look at the roster, there is talent to be found.  Of course, one of the main attention grabbers if 2023 6'10 Callum Richard, and it is easy to see why.  He brings great size, has nice touch around the basket, is active on the boards, and is only getting stronger with his frame; one can see the leaps that he has made over the last year with his game and strength.  Richard already has eyes on him and more should be coming quickly his way. On the season, Richard is averaging 15.2ppg, 8rpg, and 2.3bpg.

Chris Britt

Unsigned senior Chris Britt is another prospect that should be getting more attention lately.  This young man has been producing at a high level all season long and it doesn't seem like he is slowing down.  A 5'9 guard, he stands out with his toughness, his grit, his ability to create, and his quickness on the court.  Britt is a very good playmaker on the court, finishing strong around the basket, finding his shot, and uses his speed to his advantage in attacking downhill.  You also have to add his ability to defend, as he is just a scrappy player on the court.  He just earned an offer from Livingstone and should certainly have the attention of others as well. Right now, the senior guard is averaging 20.9ppg, 6.3apg, 4.1rpg, and 2.2spg.

2023 Evan Montanari is a new name to the program this year and he certainly has been a great addition to the team.  This junior guard really helps on the offensive, spreading out the defense with his ability to knock down shots from the perimeter but also can get paint touches, creates, and has good court awareness. 2023 Colin Fayed sits alongside him, as he can also knock down shots and brings a nice two-way presence to the floor as well. Montanari is averaging 17.9ppg, 5.4rpg and shooting 51 percent from three, while Fayed is posting averages of 12ppg, 3.3apg, and 44 percent from three.

2024 Chase Owens is one to jot down as well to watch, as the 6'1 sophomore is a do-it-all type player as he has no issue making those unselfish and hustle plays that help his team win.  Can score when the opportunity is there but also makes an impact in other areas of the court.

If college coaches are looking for players going under the radar, Gaston Day is one program that should make the list to stop by and check out because talent can be found there.
