Last year, coach Kevin Keatts was able to secure two impressive guards from North Carolina in Shakeel Moore and Cam Hayes, both of which are helping the Wolfpack this season early on. But it seems that NC State is going to continue to bring in firepower at the guard position, as Terquavion Smith and Breon Pass have been putting it all together in their senior season.
Both are putting up Player of the Year type numbers this season in North Carolina and it should certainly have Wolfpack fans excited about the future of their backcourt. Terquavion Smith is leading Farmville Central to an undefeated record so far, averaging 31.2 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 2.5 steals per game. That is including putting up a 50-point performance just last week vs. Trinity Academy.
Breon Pass is putting up impressive numbers as well at Reidsville, averaging 34.8 points, 14.0 rebounds, 6.2 assists, 2.7 steals, and 2.0 blocks per game, helping Reidsville to a 5-1 record to start the season.
Combined, this is a duo that is averaging nearly 65 points, 18 rebounds, six assists, and five steals per game in their senior season. Those are astonishing numbers to say the least but when you think about the future at NC State, with Shakeel Moore and Cam Hayes having this season underneath their belt, along with the firepower coming in with Smith and Pass, the ACC should be taking notice quickly.
Just check out the highlights from both this season!
