Every year, the Carolinas reaffirms itself as a hotbed for talent and underrated prospects, and the current landscape is no different. There's a slew of underrated prospects that deserve an uptick in their recruitment. Over the next few months, these articles will take a closer look at some of the most under-appreciated guys across the region. Today, we highlight Arturo Overton, one of the more intriguing floor generals across South Carolina'

We most recently featured Overton on our 'Get to Know' series, where we stated, 'It should really come as no surprise to see Overton beginning to emerge as an all-around force for this group. He's seamlessly transitioned from a scoring guard to a fairly complete player with leadership capabilities. Overton is a vocal presence and does a great job of understanding how to value each possession. He still shoots and scores the ball at an efficient rate from multiple levels but can also run a team with no issue. He's a quality defender and rebounder, especially for his size, and displays IQ in every possible facet of the game. It's still early in the process, but Overton is shaping up to be an extremely productive piece for the foreseeable future.'

Since then, Overton has really only further solidified his abilities as a floor general with IQ, pace, vision, and scoring prowess. His game management skills genuinely allow him to calmly pick apart opposing defenses while getting others involved. Given the structure of this Carolina Pressure squad, Overton seamlessly fits as a leader on both ends of the floor. He's a pesky defender with nice anticipation, quality decision-making skills, and scoring ability from all three levels. Although other point guard prospects within South Carolina's Class of 2023 have received more attention, Overton has as much ability as anyone and should become a target for a variety of college coaches.
