Back in August, 2015, we wrote,''You probably haven't heard much about 6'6 rising junior Brandon Lamberth on the recruiting circuit, but we have a feeling that is about to change. He's a high academic player and has already completed his high school courses, finishing with an impressive 4.4 GPA. He is taking part in the NC A&T Stem Early College program and has been a full time college student since 2015.'

Fast-forward to the 2016-17 season and Brandon is having an outstanding senior season and an important part in Southwest Guilford amazing season. Southwest Guilford is currently 19-2 and is 8-0 in the Piedmont Triad 4A conference in the NCHSAA. In addition, Southwest Guilford is regarded as one of the top teams in the state, either in the public or private school teams. Coach Guy Shavers has a lot of weapons. There is no question the importance of the Langley brothers, but one thing is for certain, Brandon Lamberth continues to fly under the recruiting radar and this is quite puzzling to us. We're taking about a high academic player that constantly displays an excellent attitude and work ethic. This season, Brandon is the team's second leading scorer averaging 13.8 PPG and 5.1 RPG. He is been terrific in the pick and roll and is continuously does all the little things that often don't and won't show up in the box score. Brandon is a strong and physical player and will battle you tooth and nail for rebounds, position, and loose balls.

College coaches that value winning, a tremendous work ethic should definitely check him out. Brandon's has always impressed us with his relentless motor and his ability to defend. We have not seen many players that exert as much energy on the defensive end of the court on every possession as Brandon. While Brandon may be somewhat undersized as a power forward, you will not find many players that continue to show the determination and willingness to get better. When we talk about intangibles, Brandon Lamberth's list is too long to count! It's time to give the young man is due. Without Brandon Lamberth, Southwest Guilford would not be 19-2 and one of the best teams in the state.
