One player that has been caught some attention is 2024 6'5 Isaac Celiscar, especially with his play at Winter Haven early on. This is a young man that is averaging a double-double, posting averages of 12.9 points and 10.1 rebounds per game. Already having a season with 13 games in finishing with double-figures, along with multiple outings of 13, 14, or more rebounds, Celiscar is quickly making his presence known in the state of Florida. In speaking with Celiscar, he says that he has learned a lot already in a short time at Winter Haven.
'Playing there this year has been a learning experience, it has taught me a lot already even though I'm young,' he told Phenom Hoops. 'We started the season not exactly how we wanted to but I can feel and see us getting better as we go into the first round of regionals.'
In learning more about how he likes to operate, Celiscar would say that he is a wing that likes to attack the basket but also can knock down shots. He likes to stay aggressive on the court and impact the floor in multiple ways, whether it is rebounding on the offensive or defensive end, but also just doing whatever it takes to help his team secure the win.
Celiscar has a unique game in his ability to score but his ability to get on the boards, something that he really takes pride in; it is about the effort he brings to the floor.
'My mindset on rebounding is just when I see the ball go up, go get it whether it is us shooting the ball or the other team because rebounds can create a lot of second chances for our team and others as well.'
The freshman has been impressive and it will be interesting to see how he continues to develop. His recruitment has not yet started but with the numbers and impact he has on the floor already; he certainly should be attracting attention his way.
