High School Coach Evaluation:
'Kell' is a do it all wing who does everything' well! 'He can handle it, he defends and he has a very good mid-range game.' He hits his jump shots, scores with the floater, can knock down the 3 and create for others.' He is a very good rebounder, very athletic with great leaping ability and he plays hard.' Mikell has a real toughness to his game and loves to do the dirty work, he has alot of Jalen Rose to his game whereas he plays at his own pace. 'Mikell has probably been the most improved player since I have taken over as the Head Coach at Woodside HS. 'Once he adds strength and athleticism too his long armed frame he has a chance to be a high major steal or mid major star!' We're very excited about Mikell!'' Coach Stefan Welsh, Head Coach Woodside High School. Coach Welsh is a former University of Arkansas and NBA D-League star who has returned to coach at his high school alma mater which he led to back to back VHSL state championships in 2004-2005.

Coach Frank says:
Mikell is an exciting talent whose elite athleticism, quickness, length and leaping ability makes him one of the most intriguing players in the 2020 class.' He can handle the ball and get to the basket where he can finish above the rim or he can pull up off the dribble and knock down the jumper. 'Mikell has good range on the jumper and is a threat to score from all levels.' Really dangerous in transition or on the fast break where his quickness and length allows him to explode to the rim or slice through traffic where he is an exciting finisher.' Mikell has a great feel and plays with confidence, imposes his will.' Defensively he is gifted with a long wingspan and very good lateral quickness that allows him to defend the dribble and guard the 2/3 on the perimeter and also allows him to be effective around the rim as a bouncy and active rebounder and capable defensive presence in the paint. He runs the floor very well and defends with tenacity.' Brings great energy on both ends. Mikell should attract Division I attention as his combination of athleticism, a long frame and very good skill puts him in rare company in the sophomore class in Virginia.
