2022 PG Avery Brown secures multiple offers

Already holding offers from Penn, Brown, UMass, and Yale, the 6’3 point guard from Northfield Mount Hermon School added offers from Howard and Fairfield.

“Howard is such a great institution and it is truly an honor to be recognized by Coach Blakeney and the rest of the coaching staff,” Brown said.  “Coach broke it down and told me that I can come in and be that guy that changes the stigma of a big-time recruit choosing a school like Howard instead of a blue-blood school.  I am looking forward to building a relationship with the Howard staff.”

For Fairfield, much of the same can be said from Brown.  “Coach Young believes I can come in right now and make a huge impact at the school.  Fairfield is close to home, so we already have that connection.”

Outside of his offers though, schools like Providence, Arizona State, Penn State, Stanford, and California have all expressed interest, with Penn State, Providence and Cal showing stronger interest than others right now.

“All of those schools attended my schools open run back in the fall and they all are interested and love how I play the game.  So, at this point, I am staying patient and time will tell.  Those offers will come in eventually but as of right now, I am just staying in the gym and working on my craft.”

Update: Brown also received an offer from South Dakota State later Monday night.

Big interest starting to pick up for 2021 Sean Durugordon

We spoke about Durugordon not long ago, as his recruitment was starting to really pick up with multiple offers.  You can read all about it here: https://phenomhoopreport.com/several-schools-getting-involved-with-2021-66-sean-durugordon-canterbury-school/

However, there could be more coming his way, as multiple high-major schools have continued to come his way and express interest his way. He added an offer from Vermont on Monday night and a DePaul offer on Tuesday but the list of other interests is impressive.

Georgia, Texas Tech, VCU, UConn, East Carolina, Rutgers, Xavier, Penn State, Iona, Providence, Marquette, Clemson, and Temple all have been new interests he has received lately.

“They really like my game and how that I’m a wing that can do a lot on the floor defensively and offensively,” he said.  “They like that I can shoot it very well also and just how I will fit really well in their system.”

At this stage, Durugordon says Georgia, ECU, VCU, Penn State, and UConn have been showing stronger interests than others right now, with Georgia being the strongest.

Right now though, he plays on working on his game, getting his handles better and working on shooting as well.  He wants to be a bigger threat on the floor with the ability to facilitate the ball and have the ball in his hands more.

2022 PG Tre Donaldson, dual-sport athlete, earns big Nebraska offer

It was a great day for 2022 point guard Tre Donaldson on Monday, as the dual-sport athlete earned not only a basketball offer from Nebraska but a football one as well.

“It feels great to come in the house from a hard workout to get a call saying I’ve been offered a scholarship to play the sports I love at a Power-5 school like Nebraska,” he said.  “It is a dream come true.”

This was his first dual-sport offer from the school, as he also holds a football offer from Georgia Tech.  But this is his first basketball offer, one that he appreciates and one that he won’t forget.

When it comes to deciding on where he might, playing on both the field and court could play a big part in the end.

“I am looking for a school that fits me best in both sports and if it comes down to me making a decision between a sport, I will,” he said.

2020 guard Dylan Blake looking for next opportunity

One of the top scoring guards in the state of North Carolina still remains on the board for college coaches of any level.  A young man that is coming off a season in which he averaged 29 points and eight rebounds is looking at all options right now.

First Flight’s Dylan Blake is a known player in the Hoop State, one that has over 313 made 3-pointers and has continued to be one of the better scoring guards in the state.

Right now though, Blake is continuing to work hard in developing his game and if given a chance, he hopes to show what he can do on the court.

“I’m the type of player who is unselfish and gets along with everyone,” he replied.  “I’m going to work as hard as I can to earn everything and I will bring you a great teammate who can shoot the ball very well.”
