Phenom Hoops travelled to Lewisville, North Carolina for our Phenom Open Gym Tour to cover Forsyth Country Day School. Forsyth Country Day holds a special place in my heart. I was able to play there from my eight grade to eleventh grade year before transferring to Oak Hill Academy. Coach Doug Esleeck is in his second season at Forsyth Country Day and he has accumulated some special young talent on his roster. Coach Esleeck is an outstanding young coach that bring college coaching experience to the high school ranks and look for him to build the Furies into a state title contender sooner rather than later. Now, let's take a closer look at his roster for the 2021-22 season.

Standouts

6'6 2024 Iverson King

Iverson has a chance to be really special. He makes the game look effortless at times. He has the ability to create plays for himself or others. He does a good job getting out in transition and has the ability to finish above the rim. Iverson can score from multiple areas on the court. If he keeps improving, he is a name a lot of people will know in the 2024 class.

6'2 2024 Jahon Foster'

Jahon is an electric point guard who has the ability to push the pace with the bounce or pass. He is extremely shifty with the ball in his hands and has the ability to beat defenders off the bounce. One of the most impressive attributes about Jahon is his leadership and his ability to defend the ball. He uses his length and athleticism really well to cause chaos for the handler.'

6'7 2024 Draven Pilson

Draven has tons of potential and upside. He made multiple plays in practice that were really impressive. He has the ability to score it at the rim at his size. I was really impressed with his shooting stroke from the perimeter. With his size and skill set he has a chance to be really good.

5'9 2025 Q Williams

Q has a tremendous basketball IQ. He sees the game one play ahead. He is one of the best passers in his class. He is a point guard that a lot of players should love playing with. He is continuing to improve his perimeter jumper. Q made all conference as an 8th grader last season.

6'1 2022 Brandon Morgan

Brandon is coming off a season where he made all conference. Brandon really has the ability to fill it up in a hurry from the perimeter. Good shooter from the perimeter.

6'5 2023 Zephaniah Jones

Zephaniah has a chance to make an immediate impact in his first year at Forsyth Country Day. He is a strong, powerful forward who will bring a nice inside presence for the Furies. He has a good skill set and will be able to cause a lot of mismatches at his position. '
