Today I had the opportunity of covering the action on Court 3 of #PhenomSouthernJam Day 2. After another great day of hoops, here are the players who stood out the most for me:

2020 5'9 PG Troy Clement – Team Vision 16U

Lefty Guard that can score in a variety of ways. Had a good showing in the 11am game vs SCBA 16U. Troy is capable of hitting jumpers in defenders faces if they contest late. He uses his quickness to get defenders off balance then decides whether to attack or pull the jumper. Troy was a tough cover this morning, as he excelled in iso situations. A fast lefty PG that can get buckets! I enjoyed his style of play.

2021 6'1 PG Bailey Wiseman – TMP 15U

Bailey has a great feel for the game. He is cool, calm, and collected on the floor at all times. Cerebral and calculated player, he just takes what the defense gives him. Bailey has a nice pull up three point/midrange shot, if defenders press up on him he can blow by them and make decisions on the fly. Finished with a smooth 18 points in his first contest of the day. He is really good player and shows confidence in his ability when it's time to lace them up.

2021 6'4 Forward Mason Grant – TMP 15U

Has a unique style of play, he is a wing player but finds himself mixing it in with the post players often times. His game is more visible 17 feet and in at this moment, he is active on the offensive boards. Shows he has touch making several floaters and push shots off the glass. Sneaky athleticism, Mason doesn't look it but he is very bouncy! Had an alley oop dunk attempt that at first glance looked overthrown but Mason rose up above the rim and almost threw it down. On the defensive end of the floor, he is equally impressive. He uses his athleticism to play the passing lanes, also crashes the glass hard.

2020 5'11 PG Khyree Thompson – TMP 16U

Khyree was big time for his 16U TMP squad, initially in the first half of their afternoon matchup with Charlotte Nets he helped TMP jump out to a 15 point lead. Knocking down open three's, attacking off the dribble, finding open teammates. He showcased a complete game, The Nets battle back in the second half and when his team needed it the most he stepped up. Scoring 10 2nd half points, specifically 8 points in the final 4 minutes of the game.

2020 5'6 PG Robert Selden – Charlotte Nets 16U

I have to show this young man some love for his performance today! He was the catalyst for his Charlotte Net's squad comeback against TMP 16U. He came of the bench ready to contribute and did exactly that. He finished the game with 15 points, and every single bucket mattered. He knocked down 3 three pointers which sparked his team. Although, it was a losing effort his impact on the game was exciting. It may have helped him today knowing he had his own personal fan club, his family brought all the energy on the sideline.
