Day I of the NCISAA Summer Showcase was definitely a success! 30+ College coaches were in attendance, and a lot of players made great impressions. Honestly, there was a lot of talent in the building. It was tough narrowing it down but here are my top 5 performers from last night's action:

2020 6'4 PG Ford Cooper Jr. (United Faith)

Cooper is truly an extinction of the head coach on the floor, he is poised and makes timely decisions with the ball in his hands. He has very good size for his position, being able to see over the defense helps him showcase his playmaking ability. He understands how to use a ball screen, whether it is scoring/passing. He burned several defenders for going under. Cooper would be a good pick up for any Div. I program, as he makes the simple plays and takes care of the ball. In addition, he also picks up the opposing team's point guard up 94 ft.

2021 6'2 PG Glynn Hubbard III (Northside Christian)

Always in attack mode, Hubbard III was getting in the lane at will. He is a lefty, but continuously drove right and couldn't be stopped. Very quick and athletic, he had a very good showing vs Wake Forest commit Dji Bailey. In transition, he is a blur and constantly has defenders on their heels. I'm looking forward to watching more of him this weekend. My takeaway from the half of basketball I saw from Hubbard III, is he is an absolute problem!

2021 6'3 Guard Cam Hayes (Greensboro Day)

Smooth and very confident player, he knows his spots on the floor. Hayes let's the game come to him but is capable of going on big scoring runs by himself. His pull up game is very impressive, as he makes tough shots look routine and natural. He naturally has the demeanor of someone who is the best player on the floor. Hayes plays at his own pace and gets what he wants. Yesterday, his scoring ability was on display but it is easy to see his game is very well rounded. He sees the floor, and makes the right the basketball play at all times.

2021 6'5 Wing JaDun Michael (Burlington School)

Michael is strong and athletic, he had a thunderous jam in the half court. He got downhill of a ball screen and just took flight over a defender in the lane. He has good size for a SG/SF at the Div. I level. Yesterday he displayed his middle game, pulling up for several jumpers. His elevation on his jump shot is simply beautiful. Michael also plays with energy, he crashes the glass on both ends of the court.

2021 6'5 SG Mike Dudley Jr. (United Faith)

Dudley Jr. has good length and athleticism at the 2 guard spot. Combined with a sweet stroke, his future looks very promising. He knocked down three early three point baskets for his squad. Dudley Jr. and Ford Cooper make a great duo in United Faith's backcourt, Cooper is the orchestrator and Dudley Jr. gets the buckets. With his profile he could be a good two way player for a program. I'm looking forward to seeing more of this kid!
