Team200 jumped out to a early 12-0 lead in the first half and never looked back. Their full court pressure was key to their early success. Playing the passing lanes and forcing turnovers lead to easy transition buckets. Team200 lead 42-21 at halftime. I throughly enjoyed the energy that was in the gym for this game. Both teams played with passion and high intensity, during regulation play Carolina pressure held the lead for majority of the game. 2024 Twin towers 6'2 Evan Carter(21) and 6'2 Omari Hendrix (18) controlled the glass and the point. Team200 cut the lead to 7, 49-42, with 1:20 left to go.' 2024 Deon Harvey(28) was incredible today bringing his squad back alongside 2024 Mazeo Bennett Jr.(21) who hit 3 second half threes. Harvey hit the game tying three w/ 2 sec to go. In extra time, the back and forth battle continued. Ending with a Bennett three, to put team Team200 up 58-56 w/ 10 sec to go. Only to be answered by a Evan Carter and 1 and game winning free throw with 2 sec to go. This game was a thriller to say the least!!
17U Team Charlotte Herron 85 vs SCBA 62
This game was track meet, Team Charlotte Herron has a balanced attack getting solid contributions from both their front and backcourt players. Everyone on their roster scored, led by 2020 6'4 Josh Wiggins(15) who had two thunderous crowd pleasing jams. 2021 6'1 Javian Cannady was also impressive, at 6'1 he is explosive and displayed his finishing ability. Team Charlotte took control in the second half leading by as much as 20. SCBA 2020 6'4 DeVonte Patterson(17) and'2020 6'4 DeAngelo Patterson(12) are a dynamic duo, both displayed an advanced mid range game. I was impressed with how they competed to the final whistle.
17U Primetime 41 vs Charlotte Nets Gainey 39
Very gritty low scoring game, both squads struggled to hit outside shots but continued to play hard. This game was determined in the final moments, Primetime was led 2020 6'1 Cam Haberstroh(13) and 2020 5'10 Cam Chisholm(9). Charlotte Nets Gainey got a big contribution from 2021 5'9 Tyler Richardson(14). Both teams were impressive on the defensive end, it was one of 'those' type of games. Tough matchup!
17U Sharpshooters' 66 vs Full Court 60
Another slower pace game, both teams made their runs. 2020 6'3 Tremaine Lowry(19) and'2020 6'4 Rashaun Brown(15) helped Sharpshooters get past Full Court. 2021 5'10 Noah Caulder led Full Court with 16 pts. Full Court made a late game push, but fell short as Sharpshooters held the lead for majority of the game.
17U Charlotte Nets Gainey 54 vs Carolina Defenders 69
The final game of the day, this was a great battle. Charlotte Nets Gainey returned 3 of their key players and it showed. 2021 5'9 Tyler Richardson(15) was getting buckets in both of their contest today. He has a sweet stroke and is aggressive getting his shot off. Even though it was a losing effort, their squad played with more cohesion. Carolina Defenders got superb efforts from 2019 6'3 Stephen Sherill(22), who was on fire w/ 5 threes. 2019 6'5 Micah Johnson(17) who controlled the paint.' I'm looking forward to watching Carolina Defenders tomorrow also, they played well as a team
