The New-Look Northisde Christian Academy
This weekend, NCA will be one of the most exciting teams on display at our Jam Fest, due to
their intriguing roster with numerous high-level players littered throughout. Incoming freshman,
Jalen Hood-Schifino, has lofty expectations and deserves to be in the argument as the best North
Carolina prospect in the Class of 2022. Sean McCabe also joins Cortez Marion-Holmes and
Jaden Seymour on a deep team, which could be poised to clean their slate on Saturday. They'll
have as much talent as any program on display, but there will be worthy competition waiting to
upset them.

Reigning State Champs Ready for More Action
Independence rolls into the weekend ready to compete with some of the region's strongest teams,
and after enjoying a state championship run last season, they have high expectations. Most of
their core will be returning, with the exception of Jamarius Burton, so anything short of another
run would be a disappointment. They have quality pieces on both sides of the ball, but AJ Mckee
and Matt Smith will be the unquestioned leaders of this squad. The duo of Division I-level guys
have established their foundation at Independence and will expected to lead the charge this
Saturday to prepare for their upcoming season.

Burlington Dynasty Preparing Their Young Stars
This weekend should showcase a lot of fun matchups, both from a team and player standpoint,
but it'll be especially fun to watch the continued growth of Ja'dun Micahel. The Burlington
School has done a quality job of grooming their prospects for quite some time now, but Michael
has a chance to become something special. It'll be interesting to see how much he's developed
his leadership qualities on both ends of the floor. The team is still relatively young, and with
their development underway, this Saturday should serve as a quality checkpoint to mark their

High Point Christian Academy Arming for Battle
There are very few teams that are generating excitement like High Point Christian Academy,
after adding a flurry of potential starters. Landon Sutton will likely have an expanded role this
season, and could certainly emerge as a leader scorer. KJ Garrett and Drew Greene will both be
newcomers to this squad, but will not be in attendance this weekend. The addition of Zach
Shumate might be the biggest long-term payoff for HPCA, as he will bring the no-nonsense
attitude and motor that this squad desperately needs. This could be one of the most intriguing
teams throughout the triad, and should be worth keeping an eye on.

The Silas Mason-led Ben L. Smith Eagles
The Smith Eagles hope to bypass the rebuilding process this season after losing multiple key
starters to graduation and transfers, but they could have the necessary talent to do so. Silas
Mason has built a reputation as one of the top players in the Class of 2020, picking up one high-
level offer after another while expanding his game on the floor. It'll be interesting to see how this
squad fares with Mason at the helm, since it'll be his first true time as the lead decision-maker
and defensive presence. With Isaiah Bigelow, Camren Hayes, Jacob Crutchfield, and Jaylen
Gainey all moving on, it'll be up to Mason to carry the torch and lead Smith through the tunnel.
