If you were paying attention this season and in the playoffs, you would have known the success of Falls Lake Academy this season. And they were led by an incredible talent in 2024 Emerson Thompson, who is coming off an incredible season in which she averaged 21.3ppg, 10.3rpg, 9.1apg, 3.9spg, and 2.0bpg. So, to say she did it all may be an understatement.
Thompson has proven herself in a big way, and we believe that it will only continue this summer with Lady Strong. Lady Phenom caught up with Thompson to learn more about her, how she likes to impact the game, and a little more about her recruitment.
Lady Phenom: Congrats on a terrific season, as you were dominating throughout. Wanted to ask you how you would best describe your game as a player'
Thompson: Thank you so much! I would describe my game as versatile. I can shoot the ball pretty well but when my shot isn't falling, I think it is important to stay involved by rebounding, passing, etc.
Lady Phenom: You really filled up the stat sheet. How do you pride yourself in having such an impact on the court in all areas'
Thompson: I think it is just a really important aspect of the game. If you do other things really well other than scoring, you are always going to have a place on the court no matter the opponent.
Lady Phenom: What is your plan and focus this summer'
Thompson: I really want to work on my mid-range game and my upper-body strength.
Lady Phenom: Anything going on in your recruitment'
Thompson: I currently have offers from Anderson, High Point, and Campbell. I talk to them and USC Upstate consistently.
Lady Phenom: What have they been saying your way'
Thompson: They like my basketball IQ and my shooting ability.
Lady Phenom: Any visits you have made or plan to make'
Thompson: I visited Campbell and High Point, and I'm hoping to head down to USC Upstate soon.
