Summer ball has come and gone and it was certainly an interesting one, to say the least.  What is great though is that players still had an opportunity to compete and showcase their talent on the court, even if it was a little different than past seasons.

One prospect that took full advantage of the summer was 2021 Jamarii Thomas.

You can write this down if you haven’t already, there aren’t many players out there that play with a bigger chip and something to prove than Jamarii Thomas; he brings that mentality every time he steps on the court.

Playing with Team Curry 17u was a terrific opportunity for Thomas and he took full advantage of it, showing that he brings incredible energy to the court.

“Man, it’s honestly been a blessing to play for such a great staff that really teaches you the game of basketball and how it’s supposed to be played the right way,” Thomas told Phenom Hoops.  “This summer showed that I can actually run a team and be a true point guard, as well as bring a lot of energy and that dog mentality.”

Playing with a ton of talent on Team Curry 17u this season was a blessing, something that he thoroughly enjoyed helping lead the charge as a point guard.  Thomas was able to not only show that he can score the ball, showcase his athleticism, and get his teammates involved but also display the energy level he brings on both sides and how he can be a defensive factor on the court.

With the opportunity to play on the biggest of stage as well, Thomas has also caught the eyes of several programs with interest levels increasing his way.  He holds offers from UNC-Pembroke, Stetson, Winthrop, Mars Hill, Catawba, and Lees-McCrae already, while schools like UNC-Asheville, SIUE, Coastal Carolina, and North Carolina A&T have all expressed strong interest his way lately.

“(They have been saying that) I could come in and play a lot of minutes right away,” Thomas said about his latest interests.  “They say that they love that I get a lot of paint touches and I get my teammates involved.”

You can put this in the book though, Thomas will not let his success this summer slow him down… it will continue to motivate him on the court, as he continues to prove to everyone his game.  Thomas took advantage of the opportunity that was given to him this summer and he will certainly look to continue that same success into the upcoming season.
