2024 6’6 Tyler Showalter has been a player on the Phenom Hoops landscape for some time now, watching him through the years develop into the player he is today. And with our most recent viewing, we continue to say that this is a player that should be garnered by several programs around the region because his game translates, and he offers a lot on the court.
That couldn’t have been more evident at the Carmel MLK Showcase, in which the 6’6 prospect was making plays in a variety of ways and from so many levels. What one can see is the confidence that he plays with, as he has really stepped up and been more assertive on the court for his team. He can be a valuable mismatch with his size and skillset, understanding how to operate from all three levels. Showalter can hurt you from outside off the catch and getting to his spots, he can make plays off the bounce getting to his spots and rising over defenders, or he understands how to operate well around the basket and finish. Furthermore, he is not only a tremendous player on the court but also a great person off the court. This is why this is an unsigned senior who should get hard looks from several programs and could be a tremendous late steal.
