Myers Park made a great run to the NCHSAA 4A West Final Four. They played great team ball as, across the lineup, they shot, defended and moved the ball. The run was led by the stardom of sophomore Drake Maye. Of course, the Maye name is well known around Charlotte, and across the country.
Drake’s brother Luke is a senior All-American candidate at UNC. Drake is also one of the top quarterbacks in the country, for his class. Looking ahead, Drake could have a future in either basketball or football, should he so choose. He finished in this game with 19 points, 9 boards and 7 assists, a true stat stuffer. Duke Farris, Jacob Newman, Caleb McReed also played vital roles here with their defense and timely shooting.
Myers Park had a great run, great coaching, great team and they are one to watch in the future.
