Player: Jakwon Moore
Class: 2023
School: 1-of-1 Prep

Players in the class of 2023 are quickly making their decisions and commitments but there are still plenty of players that are on the board that can help a program.  One player that I believe is being overlooked though still ranked as a Top-20 player in the state is 2023 Jakwon Moore.

Moore has had to battle through some injuries as of late and it has been some time since viewing him on the court.  But coaches have to remember that this still is a 6'5 freak athlete on the court that has a college-ready frame and can really fill up the stat sheet.  Before getting injured thought, this is what was being said about the young man and what he provides.

'When size and skill meet power and athleticism, you'll find someone like Moore'who has arguably developed as much as anyone since the start of his high school journey. He's a respectable perimeter shooter with exceptional finishing ability as a penetrator or off-ball cutter. Moore is a tough, physical two-way wing who plays hard, utilizes his body, and can capably fill in the gaps or expand his production as needed. He's a positive defender and rebounder with the versatility to contain guards, wings, and some forwards. Though it's somewhat expected, Moore simply produces and finds a way to stand out as a productive all-around piece in seemingly every possible setting.'

I still believe that this is a young man that can help a program and he hopes to remind everyone this season with 1-of-1 Prep.

Phenom Hoops caught up with Moore to check in on the latest, and here is what he had to say:

Phenom: How has everything been going as far as basketball and getting back on the court'
Moore: Everything has been going well, just getting back 100 percent healthy.  During the summer, I was hurt still but I was working on my shot and ball handling while I was hurt.

Phenom: Are you back healthy now'
Moore: Yes.

Phenom: What is your excitement about playing with 1-of-1 this upcoming season'
Moore: Definitely excited and I want to show that I can be a leader and show that I'm the same player that I use to be, if not better.

Phenom: Even sidelined, how do you think you improved as a player' Anything you have really focused on'
Moore: Don't take the time you got on the court for granted for sure. My main focus right now is improving my shot.
