DJ James is a name that people around the area already know. And because of one major dunk last season, one night everyone who watches Sports Center knew who DJ James was as well.

The 6'7' James is a powerful player, who plays with a unique pace and surprising explosion. As evidenced by his showing on Sports Center's Top 10, James can rise up and put the ball down with strength and power, while in traffic.

Last year, James was invited and participated in the South Carolina Top 80, an accumulation of South Carolina's best prospects. After his performance at that event we wrote,''James is a strong guy for his age. He has the ability to bully his way toward the basket. He rebounds well and has no fear. James is highly productive around the basket.'

On Saturday the rising junior picked up his first offer after participating at the South Carolina State Elite Camp. He put on a dominate performance, showcasing skill and size that caused the staff at South Carolina State to pull the trigger on him.

James has consistently been a player on the radar. After his performance at last year's David Rose Memorial Day Classic we wrote,''James is a load, who utterly dominated the competition in South Carolina. For his freshman year, James averaged 18 points and 8 boards per game. James has a very developed frame a skill set around the rim. During the event, James did well playing within himself. He played a role within 10 feet of the basket, absorbed contact and attacked the rim. Watch this one going forward.'

As you can see, James is turning into a must see type of player. His clock is now ticking as he picked up his first offer this weekend.
