Recently 6’2 2019 guard Jackson Gabriel committed to Lees McRae College, the Lincoln Charter star is a big addition to the 2019 class for Dunk Mountain.
Gabriel will come in with a winning pedigree, he’s a state champion, and currently he ranks third all time in three- pointers- made in the state. Gabriel has been known as one of the elite snipers in the state for years, but he’s continued to add depth offensively and become a better defender. Lees McRae have been hot on the recruitment trail as of late and the defending Conference Carolina champions aren’t slowing up. Gabriel will join former teammate and close friend London England in Dunk Mountain.
“ I’d say it’s a great location, they’ve been recruiting me since day 1 and have stayed with me and valued my ability to play basketball. Great coaches,they actually want me up there, and having London up there sold it even more because he’s one of my best friends and he loves it up there.” Gabriel told Phenom hoops.
This year Gabriel is one of two starters who remain from that state ’16-17 championship team along with Levonte Knox. Gabriel has lit it up on some of the biggest stages, Gabriel has made a lot of clutch shots and proven he’s got ice in the veins.
Gabriel will be counted on for leadership this year he’s the battle tested veteran, but he’s coming into with big confidence in this group.
“Ohhhh I feel like we can win a State championship this year with everyone we have and the addition to Anthony is great I’ve been workout with him since he was a 7th grader and he’s gotten so much better it’s gonna be a fun year.”
