The Phenom MDC was a tremendous overall event and some premier talent decided to take the court this weekend. One player that we were eager to watch again was 2027 6’8 CJ Rosser with Team United/ Northern Nash.
There has certainly been plenty of talk around this young man’s game and deservingly so, as he is a young star that will be one of the top players in his class for North Carolina and deserving of a national ranking. Now, I do admit that that I haven’t watched all the young rising talent in the class but it is hard to NOT say that Rosser has the making of at least a Top-50 player in the country and that number could only continue to rise over the years.
Rosser’s game is so intriguing to watch, as he is far from a finished product and the potential left in his game is incredibly high. With him just starting his story as a player, Rosser offers a lot with his game and once he steps on the court, it can be a mismatch nightmare. He continues to show his ability to operate comfortably from the perimeter at 6’8, displaying handles, ability to put the ball on the deck, get to his spots off the dribble, and also knock down shots off the catch. He makes it look effortless at times and can hurt you in an array of ways. And that doesn’t even mention his impact on the defensive end, having an impressive wingspan to cover a ton of ground, altering shots, and making an impact on the boards as well.
Again, this is just the start for this young man, as he should only continue to develop, add more to his game, get stronger, and possibly even get taller. Which is why the potential and upside are through the roof with this young man. And with all that we have seen along with the upside he has over the next few years, Rosser has a chance to be one of the top players in the country and should hold a ranking beside his name.
