The third game for day three of Phenom's Holiday Classic took place between two very intriguing teams in DCT Elite and Bull City Prep PG. Unlike most early morning games, there was no shortage of scoring from these squads. Both teams got up and down, pushed the pace at every opportunity, and scored at a strong percentage, but DCT Elite ended the first quarter with a 24-21 lead. Bull City Prep continued to battle and kept things competitive, but entered halftime trailing 53-44. After the break, things only seemed to get better for DCT Elite. They consistently turned defense into offense and converted majority of their fast-break opportunities, gaining separation and ending the third period with a 74-55 advantage. Despite consistent fight from Bull City Prep, DCT Elite held tough and claimed a 96-85 victory.

DCT Elite:

6'6 '21 Lavell Brodnex

Despite being a new face to Phenom Hoops, Brodnex has been undeniably impressive throughout his time at our Holiday Classic. He has obvious physical appeal with his long, wiry 6-foot-6 frame and phenomenal all-around athleticism. Brodnex is a great cutter and finisher above the rim, but can also finish with touch/finesse or knock down perimeter jumpers at a solid clip. He blocks shots at a high rate and is capable of defending in space quite well. Scholarship-level coaches would be wise to look at Brodnex.

6'7 '21 Josiah Dow

While there were many different standouts for this group, Dow's play is certainly worth recognizing. He's a big, strong, sturdy post prospect with excellent touch around the basket and displays a quality arsenal of moves out of the post. Dow finishes well over either shoulder, can face-up or knock down perimeter jumpers, and rebounds effectively on both ends of the floor. He's also a useful passer and isn't afraid to utilize his body to overwhelm opposing interior players. Dow should have numerous opportunities to play at the next level.

Bull City Prep PG:

6'4 '21 Kobe Jones

It seems like Jones always finds a way to stand out with this group, especially given his powerful athleticism and overwhelming length. He's extremely difficult for opponents to contain from attacking the basket and finishing above the rim. As impressive as his explosiveness is, Jones also showed the ability to assume some ball-handling duties and assert himself as a perimeter shooter on occasion. He rebounds the ball well and offers toughness defensively.

6'5 '21 Jeffrey Daniels

In terms of pure leadership, no player was more dominant for Bull City than Daniels'who seemed to carry the scoring load quite easily for this group. He created for himself and others, and consistently mixed up his approach as an offensive focal point. Daniels scored on all three levels and contained his assignment very well defensively.
