6’5 2024 Jucqarie Love (NLPB Storm 15U)
No individual player has shined brighter to me today than 2024 Jucqarie Love. The Southern Guilford prospect has been absolutely electric today, starting his day off with a 30 point game in a way. Today, Love is looking like an undeniable star, hitting perimeter shots both with consistency and in the clutch. Love had a number of powerful finishes at the rim, adding onto his clear presence as one of the more physically imposing players on the court. Very surprised that this is a name I haven’t heard mentioned more amongst North Carolina’s monstrous 2024 class. Expect his name to grow in popularity.
6’4 2024 Langston Boyd (Flight 9)
Langston Boyd is a name I’ve heard numerous times this summer before getting the chance to watch him myself. After only a half-day of play, I can say that Boyd is one of the most talented players I’ve seen today. A well-built combo guard, Langston gets to the lane better than what I expect to see out of a 2024 prospect. Hit a few triples today, eliminating any doubts in my mind as to whether or not he’s capable of contributing from behind the arc. I believe that he’s very likely to contribute at the next level.
6’4 Gio Nannucci (Basketpoint USA)
When you watch Gio, he gives off the presence of a player that could compete at any level of competition high school basketball has to offer. For starters, Nannucci possesses an excellent feel for the game. His ability to make plays off the bounce is only aided by the sense of almost carefree confidence that his game carries. I watched him attack the rim as smooth as anyone I’d watched today and found that he’s exceptionally difficult to make uncomfortable. Very composed, could certainly contribute at the college level.
6’3 2023 Alius Bowser (Charlotte Dragons 16U)
Alius Bowser has the capability of bringing a crowd to their feet more than arguably anyone competing at the Phenom Rise Showcase. Bowser is a superb athlete with a high level of defensive potential, likely aided by the rugged mentality he approaches the game with. I watched him knock down a few triples, collect some eye-popping dunks, and prove his competence as a vertical athlete through powerful flushes. No doubt in my mind that Victory Christian has a talented piece that will only help them toward another state championship appearance.
