6'2 2018 Elbert Ellis (Team Felton 16s)
By Jamie Shaw

Last week was a great week for Ellis, he picked up 3 Division 1 offers, so naturally he had a bit of a target on his back coming into Session 1 of the David Rose Memorial Day Classic. He did nothing to disappoint putting a full arsenal on display.

Ellis has long attended Phenom Hoops events, be it team tournaments or individual camps. During the March NC Phenom 150 Showcase Camp, we wrote, 'Ellis came into camp with a very aggressive mind set. He defended the perimeter with purpose and attacked the basket. Ellis has a very quick first step, but also shot the ball very well from 15 feet to beyond the arc. Ellis' camp coach Demarcus Oliver stated,'Elbert is a slasher, penetrator, and playmaker but he also shoots well from behind the 3-point line.' Ellis is a name to go ahead and start paying attention to, he is a very productive player.'

This proved to be a spot on assessment, as he had each aspect on display. If he defended him closely he blew by you. If you sagged off on Ellis, just a little, he shot the ball with nice range and touch. It will be fun to watch him develop over these next two years of high school, but Southern University, NC Central, and Santa Clara should have growing company.
