Brandon Nelson brings us some of his own court impressions on a few players from Day 2

Malik Johnson

CP3 17U:
Coby White (6’4 Guard 2018 Greenfield School)- kids is special! He has all the talent in the world.

Team Wall:
Malik Johnson (6’2 Guard 2018 Terry Sanford)- probably one of my favorite kids to watch. Malik is just a hooper. Playing through a wrist injury, Malik still performed well against a very talented CP3 squad. Johnson is at his best with the ball in his hand creating for himself and teammates.

Boo Williams EYBL 16U:
Cameron Thomas (6’2 guard 2020 Oscar Smith HS)- displays a smooth handle and has a wonder game off the bounce. Thomas is a bucket and scores in a variety of ways. With Cameron playing up with Boo Williams 16U and in the class of 2020, look for Thomas’ to be a big part of this EYBL program for the years to come.

Daryl Anderson (6’7 forward 2019 Millwood School)- intriguing prospect that has tons of potential. His long frame allows him to be extremely effective on the defensive end, rebounding and deflecting passes. At 6’7 and a nice outside stroke, look for Anderson to blow up in the coming years. This kid is a player.

Team CP3 2022:
Jaden Bradley (6’1 PG 2022 Cannon School)- this 13 year old is a gifted point guard. See the court extremely well and does a great job of attacking. Playing up 2 age groups, Bradley doesn’t ever get rattled and always plays at his pace. Jaden is hands down the best 7th grader in NC right now and a name you will be hearing a lot about in the future. Jaden finished with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assist.

Brandon Nelson (5’8 SG Community House Middle School)- one of the best shooters in the state. Nelson finished with a game high 17 points on 5 made three points. Once Brandon develops other aspects of his game, watch out. Another young gun you will be hearing about in the future.

Team Winston (15) Blue:
Cletus Smith Jr (6’4 wing 2020 West Forsyth HS)- strong, athletic wing that slashes well and finishes through contact. Did a great job drawing fouls and getting to the charity strip, where he shot 7 out of 8. Smith finished with a team high 15 points.

Tobias Johnson Jr. (6’2 2020 RJ Reynolds)- is the glue guy for Team Winston, make all the winning plays. Finished with 13 points.

Isaac Spainhour (6’2 SG 2020 West Strokes HS)- beautiful shot, pure shooter. Finished with 3 makes from behind the arc, 9 points.

D1SA Spartan Elite:
Jordan Miller (6’6 wing 2018 Loudoun Valley HS)- Jordan brings a lot to the table. He does everything well and has a knack for getting offensive put backs. Carrying several D1 offers, with an improved handle he could go from LM/MM to a HM prospect. He finished with a game high 22 points in a win over High Point Havoc.

NC Runnin’ Rebels:
Chris Barnette (6’1 PG 2018 Ravenscroft)- Chris was a major fact in a win against a very strong TMP team, TMP has multiple D1 kids. Barnette connected on six 3-points and had a game high 20 points. This kid is extremely undervalued in the 2018 class. Probably one of the most under-recruited kids in NC. Shocking that Chris Barnette doesn’t have an offers, should change soon.
