Coach Jeff Capel and Pittsburgh have had a very good year, and it seems like they have turned it around this season with their play and 14-7 overall record.  Though there is talent to be found on the roster now, a player that has been catching my eyes a lot more has been the future prospect at Pittsburgh in 2023 Carlton Carrington.

Carrington is a 6’4 shooting guard from St. Frances Academy and he is ranked as a Top-150 player by several outlets.  But with the season that the future Pitt prospect has had this season, could he be up next star for the Panthers?  In the class of 2023, Pittsburgh has been able to rack in some impressive talent but it seems that Carrington isn’t talked about as much as others in the class of 2023.

But it is time to start taking notice…

Carrington has been on a rampage this season, putting up impressive performance after impressive performance.  He is coming off a 34-point showing just a few days ago, as he had a 43-point showing the game before against Goretti.  The 6’4 prospect has been putting on an absolute clinic with his ability to score the ball from all areas of the court, posting 30+ point performances on a regular basis.

However, when you dive into more of his stats from key events this season, you can see that this young man has hit another level of his game and is producing in so many ways.  Diving more into Cerebro Sports, who has been reporting multiple events in the last year with Carrington, one can see that this 6’4 guard should be earning more attention with his play.

His ability to score and do so effectively has been impressive, knocking down shots from all levels, being a big threat from behind the arc, playing strong and helping out on the boards, dishing out to his teammates as well, and shooting the cover off the ball.

(Stats can be seen below)

Could Carrington be one of the more overlooked players in the country? Maybe, with what he has shown and proven.  Carrington is starting to prove doubters wrong though and he could be the next scoring guard to watch at Pittsburgh in the coming years.

We are just jumping on board earlier than some.
