Player: Molly Burns
Class; 2024
School: Ardrey Kell

There are so many players out there in North Carolina that are deserving of recognition and 2024 Molly Burns from Ardrey Kell is one of them.  The junior guard has been a consistent force on the court with her ability to create and also her shot-making ability. Burns is a scrappy prospect on the floor, loves to compete, and is a leader on the floor. We spoke with her more about her game, and what has been going on recruiting-wise for her.

Phenom: How would you best describe your game' And how do you think you have improved as a player'
Burns: I am competitive. I don't like to lose. I play with passion and put my heart into the game. I work hard between games to bring my best to the court.  I have worked on everything, specifically shooting, ball handling, finishing, dropping dimes, defense, and anything else to help my team win. I think I have improved physically as a player. Our strength coach has worked hard with me over the summer and fall. My high school coach has done a great job putting me in growth positions with the game; she continues to push me and put me in situations to take my game to the next level.  She understands my passion and helps me channel it.

Phenom: Anything going on recruiting wise for you'
Burns: No offers yet but some schools interested that I or my coaches have heard from include Wingate, Mars Hill, Catawba, Emory & Henry, Charlotte, Queens.

What Was Said by Phenom:

'Burns was a player I was interested in seeing again, knowing her impact on the floor. After a tough Day 1, she bounced back in a big way and showed why she can be a HUGE threat with her shot-making ability. If the opponent left her alone, she made them pay. Whether it was in catch-and-shoot situations or off the bounce, she has a ton of confidence in her jumper and she displayed that on Day 2.'

'Burns was back in action and she was really showing why she is one of the leaders for this team. She did a terrific job in creating off the dribble and making plays; she is quite shifty with the ball in her hands. But she is at her best when she is showing her extreme confidence in knocking down shots from outside, being a big threat from three.'

'She is a crafty, shifty guard that has tremendous range and confidence from the perimeter.' She has no problem letting it go from behind the arc, but she also can create for herself and get to the basket.' Defensively, she is scrappy and tough, really getting into her opponents and creating turnovers.'
