Immanuel Bates has been a name around North Carolina that has certainly grabbed the attention of college programs and there are reasons why.

Not only does he possess height at 6'11, but he continues to build and develop as a consistent big-man that can be a threat both offensively and defensively.

Currently, Bates holds offers from Tulsa, DePaul, Tulane, Clemson, Northern Arizona, Virginia Tech, Charlotte, Middle Tennessee, Old Dominion, Cincinnati, Richmond, VCU, and James Madison and he continues to hear from each of those on a regular basis.

Phenom Hoops spoke with Northwood Temple's coach Brandon Willie recently, mentioning that Bates has continued to put in the work and is now 6'11 and near the 220 mark.' He also has been hitting the gym and weight room and will continue to do so this summer.

Bates already possesses a defensive threat with his length and height, while also being a monster on the boards.' He also continues to show that he can be a threat down in the post with his post moves.' What the staff at Northwood Temple continues to work with Bates is building his confidence and becoming the 'alpha dog' they know he can be; face up to the basket and really look to dominate on the court.' He also has continued to work on making his jumper consistent, making him even a bigger threat.

Bates recently made an unofficial visit to Charlotte and could have a few others set up coming in the next few weeks.' But Coach Willie says that not one program stands out among others and they continue to recruit him hard.

Bates is one of the top big-men in the state of North Carolina and with a full summer of workouts and development of his game, his ceiling continues to rise.
