Each and every time Phenom Hoop Report gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day. It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.
Here is the latest commitment.
Player: KC Shaw
Class: 2022
Committed to: Winston Salem State
What Was Said by Phenom Hoops:
“It’s easy to see the next-level ability with Shaw, so his lack of recruitment remains somewhat perplexing. He’s a wiry, well-rounded guard with a nice blend of IQ, skill, and athleticism. Shaw has shown the ability to dictate an offense as the focal point or find opportunities within a role, but is successful and productive in both settings. He’s an efficient scoring option from all levels, but is arguably at his best when getting downhill and attacking the basket. Shaw is a quality passer, rebounder, and defender with great instincts. Expect more offers to come piling in sooner than later.”
“Due to foul trouble, it was a quiet first half for Shaw, where he finished with only one field goal. Coming off the Coker offer, Shaw spearheaded Mooresville impressive 58 point scoring outburst in the second half. Shaw is uber-athletic and is so quick off his feet. Shaw battled relentlessly on the boards and finished with a double double in points and rebounds. Shaw finished with 19 points and 14 rebounds, but it was his tenacity that enabled Mooresville to get second chance opportunities.”
“2022 KC Shaw continues to be one of the underrated unsigned seniors in the state, continuing to produce at an extremely high level. His blend of athleticism, length, scoring ability, feel, and impact all over the court is impressive and his fills up the stat sheet.”
““KC is a very underrated player. He has a very good feel for the game. He has a great pull-up shot as well. Shaw shows that he can get to the backboard when he wants to and is more athletic than what many may think. He has grown to about 6’3 right now but is still continuing to grow. The sky is the limit for this kid and I am glad he is on my team.”
“Shaw has been a known name in North Carolina for quite some time now but it still feels like he goes under the radar as far as his game and recognition. Well, it seems that he wanted to make a statement at the Jamboree Bash and that he did. Shaw is a long, athletic prospect that knows how to operate and use his length. He seemed to get his hands on everything, finishing in the paint over defenders, getting on the offensive and defensive boards, finishing at the rim with his athleticism, and knocking down shots from an array of levels. It is time for coaches to start learning the name of KC Shaw more and expect him to have a big year in North Carolina.”
