Each and every time Phenom Hoop Report gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day.  It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.

Here is the latest commitment.

Player: Jajuan Carr
Class: 2020
Committed to: UNC-Wilmington

What the Player Said:

Q: What made UNC-Wilmington the place for you in the end?

Carr: “The connection I had with Coach Siddle was like no other and the conversations we had played a big part.”

Q: How did you inform the staff and what did they have to say?

Carr: “Me and Coach Siddle talked about it on Saturday.  I told him that I feel like they are the best fit for me.”

Q: What are they hoping you can bring to the program?

Carr: “I’m hoping to bring good leadership and being a positive teammate.  And they want me to just be myself and play my game.”

Stats Last Season:

Carr was one of the top unsigned seniors in the state but now, he will be a key component in the coming years for the Seahawks.  This past season, Pender led his team in scoring at 22.5 points per game, while also posting 5.3 rebounds.  According to Maxpreps, it was his second season in which he averaged over 20 points per game.

What Was Said by Phenom Hoops:

“Carr touches the paint at will. His change of pace is off the charts and his ability to keep defenders on his hip while he makes a play is second to none. Carr makes excellent reads, always finding the open man no matter where the help defense is coming from. Carr plays with a calm demeanor and has take over ability at the right time.” – Jamie Shaw in 2019

“The tough, two-way floor general has a game that belongs at the Division I level, as he simply knows how to make everyone better. However, Carr is also an extremely gifted and efficient scorer. He’s shown that over the past few weeks, never dipping below twenty points in any single contest and notching thirty/forty-plus on multiple different occasions.” – Jeff Bendel in 2019
