Each and every time Phenom Hoop Report gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day.  It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.

Here is the latest commitment.

Player: Dallas Gardner
Class: 2023
Committed to: UNC-Pembroke

What Was Said by Phenom Hoops:

“Gardner is a guard that can be effective on the court, especially in the halfcourt.  But he gives this program another ball-handling type guard but also shows that he can score in multiple ways.  Gardner also brings a little more athleticism at the guard position as well.”

“He’s a long, athletic, heady guard prospect with great physical attributes and the ability to make his presence felt in transition or the half-court set. Gardner applies nonstop pressure in the open floor, utilizing his combination of speed, vision, and finishing ability to overwhelm the opposition. He’s a reliable midrange shooter and capable of hitting shots from beyond the arc but prefers to attack the basket whenever possible. Gardner is also a sharp defender, quality rebounder for his position, and able to create or find opportunities as an off-guard.” – Phenom 150 Evaluation

“At this point, it should be no surprise to see Gardner as a standout for this Team Hope Laney squad. He possesses an excellent frame and the necessary leadership to establish the tone on both ends of the floor. Gardner is great in the open floor, both with and without the ball, and has a keen sense for penetrating and finishing strong. He forces turnovers and gets to the line at a strong rate—where he’s proven capable of converting at a high percentage.” – Phenom Queen City Showcase

“Gardner has only continued to elevate and develop his game over the last year or so and with Team Charlotte to end Day 2, he was strong in leading the charge with 19 points.  What you have to love about his game is his ability to seek out and be aggressive, getting downhill, battling through contact, and getting to the line at a consistent rate.  He isn’t afraid of contact and is at his best when he is aggressively attacking the defense and putting pressure on his opponents.”

“It’s easy to appreciate Team Charlotte’s tough, rugged mentality, and perhaps no one on the current roster exemplifies these traits more than Gardner. He’s a strong, tough, athletic guard prospect with a great penetration sense and the ability to finish above the rim or through contact. Gardner is a quality defender and rebounder who offers a scrappy, physical presence at all times. He’s willing and ready to make hustle plays, and displays useful vision when getting downhill.”
